A Month Later
Brenna sighed and shook her head. This was not going well. For near on two months now, she had had a husband who would share her bed but nothing would happen. She was beginning to think herself unattractive. She wore her most sheer gowns, her most seductive night dresses to bed and yet nothing happened. She would kiss him and touch him and sometimes he would nearly succumb to her but then he would stop and just tell her it was not the right moment. Well she was tired of trying. She was going to do something about it. Even if it meant tying him to he bed this evening to make love to him. But that would have to wait. She had just heard that Dermot's twin, as well as Joseph and his new bride and the little ones were coming from the gate. Her parents had already returned to their own keep, leaving herself and Dermot to run the keep themselves. There had been no threats from Lorcan that she knew of and only one more raid on their livestock. All and all, things were going well. Except for a non-consummation of her marriage.
Finished with her preparations, she quickly walked downstairs just as everyone came in. Fionn was already showing herself with child, and her three sons immediately ran to her calling Aunt Brenna. She hugged each of them and kissed their heads before hugging Fionn and her husband then doing the same to Joseph as he grinned at her.
"Look at you Brenna...must of gotten a foot taller since last I saw my wee foster sister..." he teased her. She smiled then looked at his wife.
"you must be my tormentor's bride Elise. I am Brenna. Joseph has always been like an elder brother to me..." she smiled then drew away as Dermot entered and all of them turned to look at him. Fionn was the first to run to her twin and quickly held onto him, crying softly.
"Oh God's teeth Dermot I ought to kill you again for all the trouble you have caused me," she whispered and Brenna cleared her throat, drawing away then smiling, glancing at her sons and her husband before looking back at her brother. "Your nephews...Colin, Mac, Dermot...." she said then glanced at him. "And of course you remember my lout of a husband. Aron..." She smiled and hugged him again. "I missed you..." she whispered again.

Arella sighed as she went over the accounts of her father's new shop. He was resting. His health having never fully recovered since the attack, putting it on her shoulders to keep their business going. So doing, she was seated at the clerk's desk in the small shop as her daughter played with her wooden toys and she did the mathematics by hand. Cyphering and doing all that she could to set the books to rights. Rebecca looked up and muttered something hardly able to be understood and then the door to the small shop entered and she saw Kevan. She smiled softly.
"Hello again," she said gladly, having come to befriend him over the past few weeks. He was a true sweetheart and her daughter had formed an attachment to him. She had never seen little Rebecca take so well to any man like she had to Kevan. standing, she put the charcoal down and then watched as Rebecca toddled to him, tugging on the tail end of his tunic.
"How are things at your new keep?" she asked as he had moved to start redoing the small keep five miles from here that had been given to him by the Earl.
