Having been working at this place for a few days, Maxine was happy with how her job was going. Working for Caitlyn was wonderful. She was so kind to her and the other girls at her job, and those other girls were great as well. She got along well with everyone she had met, especially Laura. She loved working alongside her; they made a great team! She was currently at the cash register, and had been for the majority of her shift. She enjoyed the till. Life was fun. She liked getting up in the morning knowing she had a responsibility back at the store. It was a nice feeling to have. That feeling of being needed, being wanted even. It was awesome.
“Oh, thanks Caitlyn!” she loved coffee, and actually didn’t have enough time to get her cup in the morning so she was pretty happy to have this lovely little minty treat. She took a small sip and smiled, that warm happy feeling running through her, “Mm, yum! <3” Maxine beamed at Caitlyn once asked to have more hours in the evening. “Oh of course! My dad wouldn’t mind at all, he barely notices when I’m gone. I’d love to help you out, Cait!” she smiled, perfectly fine with taking the extra shift. She would get some extra time to get to know things at the store and work even harder for Caitlyn and the rest of her co-workers.

Caitlyn smiled. "That is excellent to know," she mused then took the papers from the printer and put them on the counter top. She tucked a stray red gold hand behind her ear and then stapled the papers together before reading over them. "How is that baby of your doing anyway Laura?" she asked curiously as she sipped at her coffee while going through the list of items then checking the note of the last recorded sale at about eight thirty the night before.
Laura smiled. She was a plump brunette of twenty three with a husband and a two year old with another on the way. "Which one?" she laughed. "Little Owen's fine. And baby number two is doing well too according to the doctor. I'm going to be out around Christmas," she said in forewarning. Caitlyn smiled. If there was one thing she missed about human, it was the ability to get pregnant. her dream as a human had been to marry and have a lot of children. And then it had turned out, that her husband had been a vampire, unable to render children and had only wanted a tender virgin for a wife. Apparently, virgin blood tasted better. And she had been a virgin until the night she had become a vampire. She had been twenty four at the time, sitting in a small castle in Haversham, England when her husband had come home, eyes blood red, fangs elongated. She had screamed and cried out at as he had raped her then bit her, feeding off of her as he had several times before. Then she had bitten him back and had only succeeded in making herself into an immortal woman, unable to have the one thing she had craved. And so now she made her choice to lay with women, to enjoy their favors. It had always been a forbidden secret of hers, loving women. And now in this day and age, she could handle it without being cast out.
It still didn't help her with the children situation, and it was probably for the best. She had not gotten to make her decision to become what she was, and if she ever changed anyone, she would want them to know the entire aspect of it, not just the drinking blood. Living forever, was not all it was cracked up to be. She glanced at Maxine and smirked. "What's your favorite food anyway? Just so I can make sure to get something from somewhere you will eat the food," she mused as she drank more of her coffee.

Since Maxine took the extra shift, she was able to take a few hours off as an extra long break. She had used that time to walk back home, freshen up just a bit, and have something to eat as a small snack. She didn’t want to overeat, especially since Caitlyn had offered her something to eat afterwards, which was very sweet of her employer. <3 The coffee, the dinner, the extra shifts. Jeez, what else was there?! So far, since having this job, Maxine was in very high spirits of herself and how she was going to be in this new town.
She had put on a bit of make up this time, before going back to work. Nothing overly fancy, since she didn’t want to overdo it. But originally, Max didn’t wear make up at all. But tonight, she decided to sharpen things a bit. The eyeliner, the mascara, etc etc. She looked quite cute without looking like she was waiting for a call from some guy on the corner of the street. And thank goodness for that, since Maxine didn’t even like penis. She had tried, she had her boyfriends and she had her intercourse with most of said boyfriends. But she just didn’t enjoy it. She wasn’t one of those lesbians that had been molested as a child or something, but just found herself attracted to females, and not males like everyone in her family wanted her to be. But she really couldn’t help how she felt. She needed to be happy, and that’s when she decided to come out of her closet. That was over three years ago, and she had been happier living her true self than hiding behind lies like she had before.
“Hey Caitlyn, I’m back~” she cooed out with a bright smile, uniform on and ready to go. She was right on time too, even a couple of minutes early. She liked it that way. She hated to be ‘just’ on time or, even worse, late. She brushed back some hair behind her shoulder and grinned eagerly as she saw Caitlyn behind the counter. “Have things changed much in the few hours I was gone?” she asked with a bit of a giggle, setting the small backpack she carried around at the back where most staff kept their belongings. She was happy to have this time alone with Caitlyn, just to get to know her better and prove herself to be an excellent employee. She had only worked here for a few days, after all, and she still considered herself to be in the probation period of things.

Caitlyn was finishing with a customer. The sun had mostly went down and so she had her sunglasses on top of her head. Dusk was much better on the eyes. Since it was fall, it came around five, which was just what time it was now and the tinted windows of the store helped. She smiled to the customer, waving them off before looking at Maxine as she entered. "No...they are pretty much the same," she admitted, watching her, admittedly liking the small changes that she saw in the girl's appearance. It made her look fresher, hotter, and much sexier. Caitlyn stopped herself. there would be time for that later on in the night. And it was a shame Maxine would not remember any of it.
"You should wear your hair like that more often. And the makeup, it looks good on you. It's not to much, not to little...sorry...it is my inner fashionista speaking," she laughed gently then finished with her customer completely and watched the woman walk out the door. Outside, the people were bustling and walking in little groups. She looked at Maxine again. "Are you enjoying your work so far? I know I'm probably giving you more hours than is ethical for a new employee, but something about you makes me thing what I'm doing is a good idea," she mused as she observed her cute voluptuous frame. Though most men and women might find the hourglass figure unattractive, it was something that Caitlyn enjoyed seeing. Stick thin girls held no appeal. She herself, was slender but not so slender she could be called a matchstick. She looked back at the computer, putting on a new playlist for the overhead of the store then taking a seat in one of the chairs behind the counter used for when the store wasn't busy. Normally nights were busy but not really on Mondays.
"I have to wonder why a nineteen year old like you isn't going to college," she mused. "You do not have to say why of course, I am merely curious..."

Maxine was quite flattered when her boss complimented her that way. She blushed just a bit and smiled brightly, “Oh, heh. Thank youu. I guess I don’t do it a lot, sometimes I just don’t have the time. But thank you! It’s a real compliment, coming from someone like you.” she blushed a bit more, taking the time to realize how silly that sounded. ‘Someone like you’? Oh goodness, Max was crazy. Absolutely crazy. Oh well. She decided to just stop herself while she was ahead and leave it at that. Chances were she’d just embarrass herself even further.
It was good that Caitlyn switched the topic fairly quickly. It gave no time for an awkward silence to come in there and it gave a reason for Maxine to respond about something else. “Oh, I like it so far! And even if you’ve been giving me more hours, I still love it. In fact, I like that I’m already getting so many hours, I feel really useful and stuff.” she looked up at Caitlyn and smiled very humbly, placing herself behind the cash register in case any customers came by.
“Oh. Yeah, I don’t know what I exactly want to do with my life. As a career, I guess. I graduated high school two years ago but now I’m at a point where I just don’t know what I want. So I figure it’s probably best not to waste money or take out a loan until I know in which direction to go.” she shrugged her shoulders just a bit, placing the papers and pens around the counter in a nice neat way while she spoke.

Caitlyn smiled at her. "I can understand that I suppose. It wasn't until three years ago...I decided I wanted to do this. I put my mind to it and here I am. A successful business owner," she mused then smiled and tugged the jacket she had on, off of her revealing a demurely cut blouse of red silk that had a slit between her breasts. She took a deep breath and inhaled Maxine's scent then got up off her chair and walked to the back and pulled out a few boxes to hang up on the shelves.
"Looks like a slow night. Must be one of those nights...How unfortunate. But we might be able to close up early," she smiled then started to set up a display for the next day on a plain black table of her latest jewelry collection. Silver and gold with handmade charms. Contrary to belief, silver did not kill her, but it did get her sick if it entered her bloodstream. she would writhe for days. She lifted up a silver chain with a dagger and heart charm hanging from it then looked at Maxine. "What do you think?" she asked, laying the charm in her palm and holding it up to let Maxine look at it. "Beautiful isn't it?"

“Wow, it’s gorgeous.” Maxine replied with a small gasp, looking at the tiniest of details on the silver chain that Caitlin had shown to her. She almost seemed mesmerized at such a pretty pendant, she had only ever wished of owning things like that for herself. She wore no necklaces, only one bracelet around her right wrist. It was a golden chain, nothing fancy. But she had it since her parents split up, so she always wore it since she barely got to see her mom. Oh well. No point complaining on the past, right? Right.
“I love jewellery, heh. But I guess most girls do… Is it real silver?” she couldn’t tell these days. Jewellers made it all look real now that it wasn’t exactly easy to tell if it was real or not. Not to Max, anyways. She didn’t know what to look for, how to tell if it was fake or not. Sure looked real to her though, the way it sparkled and all that stuff.
“Do you often close early on nights like these?” she muttered out with a shy little voice, looking up at Caitlin for a moment before glancing down at the jewellery again. My, it was easy to distract her. She was like a crow; caught by all these shiny things.

"Definitely...I wouldn't want anything else," Cait mused. "My customers deserve the best. If they are paying fifty bucks for jewelry it should be real jewelry," she said simply then handed it to her. "Here...you take it...it's one of my lesser expensive pieces and I have a few duplicates. The way your eye is catching it I know you want it. Consider it a gift," she said simply then put it in Maxine's hand. "And I often close up early if I don't get any customers after seven. " She shrugged and then walked around the counter and took the necklace from Maxine and put it around her neck. If only they weren't in private. She would put the girl in a trance, drink from her and make it to where she wouldn't remember. And she would love to make love to this girl. More than she could possibly realize. Sighing, she drew back and palmed the charm. "It suits you..." Cait said then walked back to the display to finish setting it up.
"Consider it a gift and don't tell me you don't need it. It's not about need. I like to gift my customers and my employees. Keeps them loyal," she laughed softly as she continued to work with the display.
